Treasuring Impact Strategies in Uganda

Written by The Love Justice Team | Apr 7, 2022 11:30:00 AM

One of the global values of Love Justice International is to treasure, promote, and strategize opportunities for impact. We believe that real opportunities to change someone's life are exceptionally valuable and at the core of our mission to fight the world's greatest injustices.

Our police liaison project is an impact opportunity that was designed to be a bridge between our monitoring teams and the local authorities in the countries where they work, not only to develop better relationships with police and security but also to increase the number of secured arrests of suspected traffickers.

We hire individuals who can help develop these relationships and train local police forces on our strategy to fight human trafficking. In countries where the program is running, we have seen a higher degree of cooperation with police, resulting in additional arrests and better support for our teams.

Police Liaison Project: Uganda

Our project manager in Uganda, Julius-Lutalo Kiyingi, joined Love Justice International in 2018. Julius brought with him extensive experience from working with other NGOs in areas ranging from transitional justice to refugees, with the latter experience being the foundation for his dedicated work to fight human trafficking. Julius is very passionate about human rights, social justice issues, and giving a voice to the voiceless.

He shares, "The reason why I do this work is simple: to put a human face to the indignity of human trafficking. In Uganda, and many countries in the region, so many victims and potential victims are lured, deceived, and trapped in situations they never intended or imagined. Many of these are young children, many of them from poor rural families—the invisible children we as a society have chosen to ignore for too long. My job is to break that cycle and shed light on one of the world’s greatest injustices.” Watch the following video as Julius shares more about our anti-trafficking work in Uganda.

At Love Justice we are passionate about looking for opportunities to get the greatest impact we can from the resources that have been entrusted to us.
