Introduction: Love Justice is seeking a video producer/content creator with experience in creating artistically driven content who will thrive in our creative and collaborative culture. He/she will have a great love of travel, stellar written and verbal communication skills, and an aptitude for making quick, quality decisions. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop multimedia (audio/video) content for Love Justice stories.
  • Script, storyboard, budget, allocate resources, set deadlines, and select optimal forms of media for projects.
  • Work independently, as well as with a team to establish project deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with internal clients and stakeholders to help facilitate the creation of multimedia content.
  • Plan video shoots; scout, select, and reserve shoot locations.
  • Develop production schedules.
  • Select and hire additional crew and talent; direct and coach talent; make transportation arrangements for crew, talent, and equipment; and ensure all location power needs are met.
  • Record and edit video and sound projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over/sfx, managing media, and archiving project media.

CHILDREN'S FUTURES INTERNSHIP

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Love Justice International is developing a Children’s Futures program to prepare our children—who come from orphaned and disadvantaged backgrounds—to apply to college and explore potential career paths. CHIEF DATA SCIENTIST 

Position Type: Primarily, we are looking for someone in a part-time advisor role, which would not necessarily need to be based overseas. However, we would also love to have a full-time person based overseas. Depending on the candidate’s qualifications, this person could be support-raised or salaried.  

Reports to: President/Director of Research

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duty of the Chief Data Scientist is to bring scientific and statistical methodologies to bear on the evaluation and execution of key program strategies, including:

  • Finding ways to objectively measure the positive outcomes in children in our homes against the wider population.
  • Helping us maximize the effective and intelligent use of statistical tools in analyzing our anti-trafficking data and migration survey data in order to help us more effectively prevent human trafficking and lead people toward safe and prosperous foreign employment.
  • Using scientific and mathematical tools to optimize decision-making and policy formulation in all areas of our work.

Qualifications: Candidates should have the following qualifications:

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Position Type: This position is based in Kathmandu, Nepal, and will require the candidate to raise his/her own support. Some travel to transit monitoring locations may be required.

Introduction: The unique data we collect as a result of our transit monitoring strategy is of immense value. Interception intel is central to our efforts to bring traffickers to justice and informs our expansion strategy. Therefore, we have developed a custom data collection and management platform we call Searchlight Human Trafficking Data Center.

The core operational mission of this role is to lead the design, development, and maintenance of key custom software tools, with Searchlight as our flagship product. This includes helping us recruit, train, and manage a professional, full-time team of software developers. Searchlight utilizes Django web frameworks in combination with PostgreSQL and AngularJS.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development pipeline, based on priorities from the Technology Lead.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of full-time, volunteer, and contract developer teams.
  • Lead bug repairs, quality control, and troubleshooting user issues.

Qualifications:

CHILDREN'S HOMES GUIDANCE COUNSELOR

Introduction: Love Justice International (LJI) currently operates 17 family-like children’s homes for over 200 children in Nepal, Bangladesh, and India, with the goal of the program being to help these children become difference-makers in their nations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the Guidance Counselor will be to help run a program we’ve developed to help our children transition into early adulthood, including applying for colleges and scholarships in Nepal and beyond.

SOUTH AFRICA BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Introduction: Love Justice’s work is funded by individual and corporate donors. In order to reduce our reliance on donations and to increase the reach of our work, we have started a number of business ventures to supplement our income. We are looking for a Business Development Manager who will help us grow these businesses and generate long term assets for the organization.

Profile: The ideal candidate will have a degree in business administration and experience in starting and growing a small business or working in multiple roles within a small to medium-sized buisness. The candidate must be a jack of all trades, able to proficiently perform functions of adminstration, marketing, sales, processes and development, and finanical management. The candidate must be a self-starter able to motivate themselves, plan their own projects, and set and achieve their own goals in order to meet the financial targets. The candidate will ideally have some experience in running online shops and running online marketing campaigns. The candidate must have a heart for and a commitment to victims of human trafficking, be invested in our model of prevention, and be able to clearly and passionately articulate the work that LJSA does. 

Objectives: The Business Development Manager will take the businesses that have been established, grow them, and make them sustainable. In addition, they can come up with new opportunities that will fund the operations, yet not take too much time away from delivering on our core objectives.

Township Fleva: Township Fleva is an NGO that takes unemployed youth and trains them to be fashion designers. We have partnered with them because job creation is one of the primary drivers that prevents people from falling prey to human trafficking. We are developing a Love Justice branded clothing and accessory line that encapsulates our African roots with the objective of selling these items in South Africa and overseas through online platforms and through our partners in the States.

Coffee: Love Justice has developed a coffee brand, the Freedom Blend, which supports free trade farmers in Africa by ensuring they are paid a living wage. The coffee industry is rife with exploitation, so partnering with these co-ops aligns with our values. Our existing business model revolves around mobilizing volunteers to sell our coffee to their friends, thereby increasing our reach and using the power of word of mouth to generate ongoing sales. In addition, we are approaching members in churches to get our coffee into their churches and into corporations. Introduction: Love Justice South Africa is seeking a Marketing Manager who will be able to assist us in raising our profile with government and donors through multiple media to grow brand awareness and brand loyalty and to ensure we are able to continue our work and do it with the greatest of impact.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Create marketing and social media campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, content ideation, and implementation schedules.
  • Grow and expand company social media presence into new social media platforms, plus increase presence on existing platforms including Facebook and Instagram.

NEPAL ANTI-HUMAN TRAFFICKING DIRECTOR

Reports to: Love Justice Nepal National Director 

Introduction: Love Justice Nepal fights human trafficking through its border and transit monitoring strategy. The main elements of this strategy are border monitoring, data collection and analysis, intelligence-led investigations, and legal assistance. In Nepal, LJI currently operates around 20 border monitoring stations to intercept potential trafficking cases.

Qualifications: Candidates should be fluent in Nepali and willing to relocate to Kathmandu, Nepal. They should be high-capacity, mature Nepali or Indian nationals who are full of faith and passionate about fighting injustice. They should possess leadership skills and should have experienced significant exposure to Western culture (ideally educated in the West).

INDIA TRANSIT MONITORING DIRECTOR

Reports to: VP of South Asian Transit Monitoring

Overview of Love Justice International and Our Anti-Trafficking Strategy: Love Justice International (LJI), formerly Tiny Hands International, is a Christian anti-trafficking NGO that has worked in Nepal for the past ten years, and in the past few years, has expanded to Bangladesh, India, and South Africa. We use a counter-trafficking strategy called transit monitoring, where our trained staff monitors transit areas (borders, bus stations, and airports) to identify potential trafficking victims and assist them with repatriation and procurement of aftercare. In interviewing the victims, we collect intelligence to assist local police with criminal investigations and arrests of the perpetrators. We also follow up with each legal case filed to ensure speedy and fair prosecutions.

Through this strategy, we are able to stop trafficking before victims reach the destination where they are exploited, and we are able to collect intelligence to go after criminal networks. We partner with local churches in all our work. We have intercepted and assisted over 15,000 individuals who were being trafficked or at high-risk of being trafficked, and we have helped convict over 60 traffickers in the last four years. FIELD LIAISONS

Love Justice is seeking to establish transit monitoring pilots in the following locations:

  • Cambodia (Siem Reap)
  • Kenya
  • Anchorage, Alaska
  • India (Kolkatta or New Delhi)
  • Bangladesh

In addition to these places, we would consider other locations where transit monitoring is needed if we found the right person. To help accomplish this, we plan to hire a Field Liaison to help establish transit monitoring in each of these places. 


Reports To: The Field Liaison will report to the relevant regional director.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Learn how transit monitoring works in order to be able to sufficiently explain, implement, and help adapt this model to a new culture and national situation. (This will require spending some time in Nepal.)
  • Help LJI find the right national champion and project manager, and work with them to determine how transit monitoring can be done safely, legally, culturally appropriately, and effectively.
  • Assist the national partner in many ways, including the implementation of the processes required for this project to be effective.
  • Communicate regularly with LJI staff on the progress of the project.

Work Environment and Requirements: This person will need to spend several weeks in Nepal to learn about transit monitoring and other processes used by Love Justice before moving to the relevant place. He/she must be willing to commit to at least two years in the field.

Requirements and Commitments for Overseas Staff

Time Commitment: All candidates must be willing to make a minimum of a two-year commitment to work for the ministry. (An evaluation will be held after three months to assess fit and performance.) In addition, all candidates are encouraged to conduct a one to two week investigative trip to the location of work prior to committing to working overseas for Love Justice International.

Christian Living: All candidates must be willing to commit to a Christian lifestyle, regarding purity of life, as well as engagement in regular fellowship and devotion.

Self-Support and Fundraising: All candidates must be willing to raise support for their own living expenses. Each staff will maintain a "support account," out of which his/her salary will be paid, and extra money will be used to help support Love Justice projects. All positions require that a minimum of 90% of personal support be raised before going into the field.

Professionalism: Although this is ministry, we expect to maintain a level of professionalism equal to or higher than that in the business world. This includes regular and consistent working hours (40 hrs./week), faithful attendance of required meetings, compliance with the directives and policies of leaders, and fulfillment of commitments. You will be asked to give of your time and freedom at a level that accord with the importance of our work.
