Watch the following video (filmed prior to COVID-19) for a glimpse into what makes The Dream School so special.
Nutrition in Our Family Homes
Did you know that 46% of children in Nepal suffer from acute or chronic malnutrition (UNICEF)? The nutrition plan used in our family homes program was developed by a leading nutritionist in the country. It aims to ensure that our children receive all the nutrients they need to thrive, grow, and overcome some of the effects of malnourishment that many of them experienced prior to coming to our homes. We track our kids’ growth charts closely to identify any children who are in need of extra nutritional attention. As of October 2020, none of our children fall under the World Health Organization's standard for “Severe Malnutrition,” although 24 are receiving extra nutritional supplements for mild or moderate malnutrition.

Family Homes: The Program That Started It All
In 2002, five young men who had just graduated from Taylor University made a plan to go on a trip for several months to seek ministry and adventure in Kathmandu, Nepal, praying that God would guide them to an organization that could use them as volunteers. They were quickly drawn to the plight of the children they saw living on the streets in Nepal, and they worked with an organization to help start a drop-in center for these kids.
A few years later, three of them traveled back to Nepal. When one of them, LJI founder John, saw how the wonderful children in this home contrasted to the street children they had worked with before, he decided to stay behind, and began discussing with friends the possibility of starting an organization. Soon, LJI was registered and began working to improve the lives of street children and orphans in Nepal. Thank you for being a part of this special ministry of Love Justice.
Thank you for your faithful, generous support that helps make these smiles possible. We are so grateful for the impact you are making in the life of your child!
