This Month's Prayer Points and Updates
- Mozambique: The team is constantly reviewing the security situation in Pemba due to the outbreak of a civil war that has limited the movements of staff to safe zones. Please pray for the country at large and for our staff who recently received threats from a suspected trafficker.
- Indonesia: Last month, the self-funded partner in Indonesia secured their first intercepts of the year. They continue to focus on improving their working relationships with the authorities in the port; please pray that God will open doors and give them favor.
- Kenya: Last month, the team in Kenya reported 120 intercepts and 12 gospel professions. The gospel professions came from one of the stations in a part of the country where most people have never heard the gospel before, so please join us in prayer for greater footprint and impact there.
- Uganda: The team is currently managing cross-border monitoring between Kenya and Uganda, which is proving to be an impactful strategy for combating trafficking in the area. Last month, they had 514 intercepts from their four stations and their investigations team. They also registered two arrests, with several trafficking cases ongoing in court. Please pray for justice to be served!
- Ethiopia: Last month, the team received a three-year project approval with the Addis Ababa City Administration Finance Bureau and Bureau of Women, Children, and Social Affairs. This will enable them to freely monitor throughout the city and change their monitoring locations without needing prior approval. Please join us in praising God for this incredible answer to prayer!
- Sierra Leone: Last month, the project manager went to Kambia to visit various porous border crossing communities and to establish relationships with key stakeholders and security personnel in the area. This was a strategic move that enabled our team to discover new hotspot areas where there is potential for impact. Please pray for the team's effectiveness as they work to increase their impact and protect the vulnerable in Sierra Leone.
- Burkina Faso: The team in Burkina Faso worked with authorities to secure their first arrest since they started monitoring in November 2021! We are praising God for this amazing breakthrough! Please join us in prayer as the team works to strengthen their relationships with the authorities to secure more arrests!
- Philippines: Last month, a three-month transit monitoring pilot was launched in Manila through a well-established nonprofit partner organization. Please pray that this pilot will be successful and have a tremendous impact in the country!
- Nepal: The team in Nepal recorded 131 intercepts last month. They also filed ten cases and assisted with 9 arrests. Additionally, the team saw three verdicts where maximum sentencing was 16 years imprisonment! Please pray that their impact will continue to grow.
- India: Challenges with regards to official identification and permissions to monitor at the transit locations have had a negative impact on the team’s operational efficiency. They are taking urgent steps to mitigate the risk factors; please pray that God will move in this situation and give the team favor with the authorities.
- Namibia: The team has been working on expanding to a new station, which required the hiring of 10 new monitors and three support staff. Please pray for the success of this new station—that the team would be unified and effective in their work.
