This is an exciting month for us at Love Justice because it marks 20 YEARS since we officially incorporated as a registered nonprofit organization! To celebrate, we’re sharing 20 of our most significant accomplishments made possible by our incredible partners and givers over the past two decades.

In 20 years of operation, Love Justice has…

  1. Intercepted over 80,000 people to prevent them from being trafficked and helped arrest over 1,700 suspects

  2. Contributed to lowering the prevalence of human trafficking in every country where we work—even as it has increased in every country where we don’t work.

    • According to Walk Free’s 2023 report, in all 17 countries in which Love Justice started working prior to 2022, human trafficking declined by an average of 5% per year. In the rest of the world, human trafficking increased by an average of 11.5% per year.

  3. Developed and honed the strategy of transit monitoring, which we still believe to be by far the most impactful way to fight human trafficking

  4. Nepal-19-2Opened 18 family homes, which have provided a loving environment for close to 300 orphaned or abandoned children to grow up in.

  5. Opened The Dream School, which has since served 414 students, 79 of which have graduated. At the end of this school year, the number of graduates will increase to 102.

  6. Reduced our cost per intercept to under $150, making each dollar go further in the fight against trafficking.

  7. Shared the gospel with thousands of people and had the joy of seeing 2,612 of them profess faith in Christ.

  8. Piloted our anti-trafficking work in 31 countries

  9. Developed Searchlight and other data-tracking tools to build a powerful database of knowledge to help us know exactly what we are fighting against.

  10. Proved that transit monitoring works with our first successful intercept in Nepal in 2006—and that it could be scaled globally with our first intercept in Bangladesh in 2014. This milestone marked the beginning of our international expansion.

  11. Distributed aid to 114,926 families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  12. Sent off 27 graduates from our Family Homes Program, watching them fulfill our vision of creating difference makers for Christ in their communities through their various accomplishments.

    • To graduate from the program, the young person must complete a post-secondary program, earning a bachelor’s degree or vocational certificate/license; move out from the home and live independently; and achieve financial independence, no longer receiving support from LJI in any capacity.

  13. students walking and smiling-1-1Fostered a love of learning in our school and equipped students to surpass the national average on standardized tests.

    • In one notable report, 71% of our students passed the national exam with a B or higher, compared with a national average of 31%.

  14. Broke into the world of online interceptions through the Freedom Project in South Africa. So far, over 2,000 people have been intercepted online since 2020, and we are working to develop digital models in other countries as well.

  15. Overcame a multitude of significant obstacles along the way—corruption, permissions setbacks, natural disasters, COVID-19, various funding challenges, and more.

  16. Established a verification system to ensure validity of impact and alignment across global teams.

  17. Utilized liaisons with police and high-value contacts (HVCs) to grow our impact and involve the community.

  18. Established our mission, core values, and core processes, which has had an enormous impact on guiding the rest of our work.

  19. Been strategic about who we hire and how we structure staff and subcommittees, choosing to hire locally in each nation we serve—because locals best understand the norms of their own country or area.

  20. Launched Project 58, a movement of prayer and fasting that resulted in multiple periods of intense breakthrough in our impact and growth. As part of the initiative, we introduced spiritual care coordinators to support field staff and help share the gospel.
